One of the things that stands out when you arrive in Fujiland are all the people sleeping in public. In libraries, parks, schools, colleges, and fast food shops -- almost anywhere you go! -- you can see Fujilanders blissfully catching forty winks. But by far the most popular place to have a refreshing nap is the train. Surprisingly the sleepers always seem to wake up just before their stop, as this young lady did after I photographed her snoozing on the Keihin Tohoku line.
